I have worked in intensive outpatient (IOP)/partial hospitalization (PHP) and family counseling settings treating adolescents, teens, adults, couples, families, and groups. I have experience working with clients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, marital issues, teen issues, parenting challenges, work-life balance, sports-performance issues, grief, trauma, substance abuse, and adjustments to life stressors. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication from Saint Mary’s College and a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. I have been married for 17 years to my college sweetheart and have teen, tween, and adolescent children.

I understand there can be hesitation, uncertainty, or fear around therapy. That is why I create a safe place to work through these important issues. I am known as being an empathetic listener and my own roller coaster of life experiences has allowed me to be an understanding and effective therapist. I assist clients in knowing who they truly are so they can experience the joy of living a full life. I approach treatment with clients with a goal-oriented strategy focusing on solutions to problems and learning a better sense of self. I want clients to walk away from each session feeling as though they are making progress towards their goals. I approach treatment with a holistic angle focusing on cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and physical wellbeing. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but also utilize Psychoanalytic, Solution-Focused and Person-Centered approaches.
Courtney is clinically supervised by Monica Urbaniak, MS, LMFT-S.
